NPR Buddy has been in quite a mood this morning; when presented with my newest addition he stated “it’s HUGE!” and then proceeded to poke it. (He was then quite embarrased when I pulled back and winced.) But not only that, when I went to go share the good news with him about my new ink, he looked at me and (jokingly) asked if I wanted to go make out in the elevator.
This is what friends are for. He is the reason I enjoy coming into the office.
Meet my newest ink:

I knew Chris (my artist) and I would get along just fine when he looked at me, smiled, and said “Straddle that chair, baby!” My kind of man
Found this around the corner from my house. I couldn’t pass it up.

Lookit! My girl AH is all growed up with her own WP blog and everything!
Porno Kisses, indeed!
While out and about in Chicago on Tuesday (otherwise known as the BEST DAY EVER!) I stumbled upon the greatest bath junkie store in the WORLD. Otherwise known as Lush.
Couple years ago, Jason and I stumbled upon a bath store in Florida, where he made a bath scrub that smelled like really good cologne. I walked into Lush thinking, “Hey, maybe they have soap that smells like boy, too!” so I asked a very cute clerk if they had any soap that smells like boy. She turned and stared at me, then started laughing and picked out this soap:

She then told me they call this soap the “Hot Man” soap, and wondered if anyone had put me up to asking for it that way. I assured her that no one had; and relayed the above story as proof.
Then, I asked her if they had any soap that would make me a better person. She hands me this:

They didn’t happen to have any that would do my taxes or that would magically turn into the man of my dreams, but I did happen to find out that the cute checkout clerk was also from Wilmington, DE and that I went to high school with her cousins.
All from a soap store. Who knew?
Some of you may know my great love affair with sweets, and with Swirlz in particular. This is a store totally dedicated to cupcakes. Yes, cupcakes. Swirlz has it’s home in the Lincoln Park section of Chicago, directly across the street from Children’s Memorial Hospital, where I spent the greater portion of my afternoon yesterday. So, this was my second visit to Swirlz, and they did me proud again! I walked out with a dozen cupcakes (and I’m happy to report they all made it safely back with me to Philly tonight), two new hats (one for me, one for the sister) and a new t-shirt for the baby bug. I’m telling you, people, these cupcakes are a true thing of beauty!

JJT, this means YOU. I know it’s way past football season, but in Steeler Country it’s the love that never dies. I found this shirt today and couldn’t pass it up on my way out of Pittsburgh:

I received an email from my new buddy this afternoon, describing the names of his children. My biggest “laugh and clap” moment of the day came from the following line:
My boys’ names are Nevan and Liam. We love unique names but not too absurd like Apple or TicTac.
TicTac! TicTac! What about MintyFresh or Kodak? Timex? Unisom?
I’m still laughing out loud, people. HA!
A friend of mine emailed me a very interesting bedtime story on Friday night; and I have to say…stories are great. We here at NPR Junky live for stories.
But, if you really want to know the way to this girl’s heart- TELL me a story. Out loud. I love being read to. Always have.
