Yeah, I could live there

Apparently, I can’t get enough of quizzes today….(either that or I’m extremely bored):

You Belong in Rome

You’re a big city girl with a small town heart
Which is why you’re attracted to the romance of Rome
Strolling down picture perfect streets, cappuccino in hand
And gorgeous Italian men - could life get any better?
What City Do You Belong In?

Oh, I knew it!

From my buddy Malnurtured Snay:

You Are The Stuffing

You’re complicated and complex, yet all your pieces fit together.
People miss you if you’re gone - but they’re not sure why.
What Part of Thanksgiving Are You?

I cheated, but still

Night Elf Druid
f-ne.jpgdruid.jpg

Night Elves are the sexiest of the bunch. They’re the hot flower children of Warcraft: at one with nature, and dancing all the while.

As a druid, you tend to be relaxed and accepting - though if there is something you don’t want to do, then you won’t do it - simple as that. You’re an easygoing and versatile person.

Ok, so I agree with that. However, it took me 3 tries to get the character I wanted (don’t yell, people, I KNOW that’s not the way you’re supposed to do it) and I answered the questions like “I blow things up” or “I light people on fire”.

And y’all KNOW that’s not how Druid’s work. Night Elves, either. Hmm. Damn quiz! I got Dwarf warrior, the two other times, answering it like I normally would. Huh.

Apparently, I chicked out

Yes, it’s true. I chicked out. Or whatever it was he meant.

Wednesday night was Blogger Happy Hour at Molly’s in Baltimore. I, being friendly with several Baltimore Bloggers, was graciously invited and was rather looking forward to it…until….

DUN DUN DUN!

I got sick. Sunday night I came down with a plague (wouldn’tcha know it, on a WEEKEND no less) and was out Monday through Wednesday. I really wanted to go Wednesday night, but I still felt poorly, and my honeybunny was wearing his pissypants and refused to drive me down there because “I have to get up at four tomorrow morning, what the hell do I want to drive you to Baltimore for?”.

Honestly, I couldn’t blame him, but I tried real hard anyway. So I had to cancel. So I emailed Snay and ACW to politely decline. He said “No problem, feel better”. He told me I suck and that he would “crack a rip” when he hugged me at the next one. What I wanted to know was, how do you crack a rip?

So I check Snay’s blog this afternoon, whereby I find that he told me I chicked out.

Dang it! I hate it when I do that!

Editor’s note: I’ve added two links above to make the post make a bit more sense to those involved. Sorry for any confusion it may have caused.

Help me find a home!

Hi, my name is Lilly and I live with NPRJunky. I love my mom, but she has too many cats for me and it’s too crowded at her house. Do you know anyone that could use an only-cat? I have all my shots and I’m super friendly, and I’ve been spayed. I do have my claws, and my mom tells me that if someone wants to adopt me, the claws are a part of the deal. I like long naps in the sun, and spending time on the porch, and wet food. I also really like being petted. But I don’t like other cats, they’re yuck. I’m not much of a dog person, either.

Please let my mom know if you know of someone that could use a good companion. It makes her sad that she has to keep me away from the other guys in the house, and she wants to find me a house where I’ll be happier.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

I really should have known that

Note to self: managers are ALWAYS funnier having had three beers, a cocktail and a glass of wine.

This week, I was in my company’s PA office again, to help out. Thursday, after a day long training session, my first manager suggested to my team that we all go out for dinner. He asked my second manager to come along. My second manager happens to be British and the funniest thing on God’s green earth, especially after a few drinks. So we started out at Iron Hill in PA, and made our way to this bar around the corner from the office. I enjoy listening to British manager, because everything he says sounds much better with the accent. American manager gave me a cube outside of British manager’s office, and I was able to listen to him on the phone for the past two weeks. He’s quite gifted, he can make a “fuck off” sound very very professional. So he had me rolling all through dinner, and I was quite glad I joined everyone.

Oh, boy

Ever had one of those weeks/weekends/days where you and your honey are on completely opposite ends of the mood spectrum?

Jason and I just had one of those weekends. Saturday he was wearing his pissypants because we didn’t have the right parts to a chandelier we got in FL. So, after we get the parts we needed, he was so bent out of shape that he got me all out of sorts for the rest of the evening. We played Wow for a while last night, and he got really pissed off when I wasn’t fast enough casting to help save his ass. ARRRRGGHHHH.

Today, I didn’t get to spend much time with him as I was at a baby shower for the lovely and ever expanding Erica. There were far too many women in one place at one time for me, so I came home cranky and we watched the Steelers game. At least they won. But then he contracted a case of the crankies when I needed help getting my new laptop connected to our wireless network.

Today I was in Pittsburgh, at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, for work. While there, one of the nurses with whom I met accidentally mistook me for Alicia Silverstone. She looked at me funny for a few minutes, almost said something a couple of times, and finally, we stepped into an elevator and she asked “You’re not Alicia Silverstone, are you? You look just like her”. I told her, no, that I wasn’t, but it was quite a compliment.

I was quite flattered. Definitely not something I hear everyday.

Last week, Jason and I took our first vacation together, to his parents house. Many of you may be thinking….”WTF kind of vacation is THAT?” However, I’ve only ever met Jason’s mom and dad once in the 5+ years we’ve known each other. So, with his possible voluntary deployment coming up somewhat soon, I felt it best to get to know his family, in case he came home in a box, or not at all. At least this way they’d know that I’m important to him, and that I would want to know if his mama got that knock at the door.

So I got there on Wednesday night, after being told a few weeks ago that it would be just Jase picking me up. But no! It was the whole family, come to see me in my pajamas and favorite red ball cap. Thursday, we all went to St. Augustine and Jason and I (read: Jason) bought a new chandlier for the dining room. Friday, his mama and daddy took us out on one of their friends boats, and we both got sunburnt (but it was worth it to be on the water). Saturday, we went to one of Jason’s nephew’s lacrosse games, and Jason and I drove down to Daytona to goof off. So he ended up with some new girly stuff from Bath Junkie, and we both got icecream from Coldstone and brought some to his parents. Sunday, we went to the Outlets on the way to the airport, and went to the Jacksonville inner harbor like thingy.

All in all, it was a good time. The time with him was priceless, and I’m very glad I got to know his parents better.
